CENTER FOR AIDS PREVENTION STUDIES

Stephen F. Morin, PhD, Director Susan M. Kegeles, PhD and Marguerita Lightfoot, PhD, Co-Directors

The mission of CAPS is to conduct domestic and international research to prevent the acquisition of HIV and to optimize health outcomes among HIV-infected individuals.

Serosorting following acute HIV diagnosis

"Early detection of HIV can play a critical role in stopping the epidemic," said Dr. Wayne Steward. "Participants who were diagnosed during the initial--and most highly infectious--stages of HIV, quickly changed their behaviors to protect their sexual partners and stop the spread of HIV."
